Meet the people behind the site

Jasmine Linabary is a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in communication studies at California State University, Chico. Her research interests are in journalism, new media, and feminist theory. She most recently served as managing editor of two weekly newspapers in Montana. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from Whitworth University, where she served as editor-in-chief and then online editor for the student newspaper, The Whitworthian.

Joy Bacon currently lives in Baltimore, Md., and teaches at a low-income high school. She studied English and journalism at Whitworth University, where she served as editor-in-chief of The Whitworthian as well as a contributing editor for Script literary magazine. She has worked in several freelance capacities and is passionate about promoting gender equity both domestically and abroad.
